Qualifications

• 2 Year/Associate Degree is required.
• 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred.
• A State of Florida Technologist License is required OR ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
• Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas: Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology (Generalist preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples within the required time frame.
• Assume department responsibility in the absence of the supervisor.
• Complete all records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround times.
• Use good judgment and independent thinking in interpreting patient results, including delta checks.
• Review pending logs and result logs; communicate workload to staff as needed.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all problem/critical specimens.

Education

2 Year/Associate Degree required

4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred

1 year of MT experience preferred

Florida Technologist License required or ability to obtain during interview

Generalist licensure across Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology
