Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW) is required.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and analyzes data.
• Conducts instrument function checks and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations including PPE and Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates with peers and healthcare staff about results, instrument issues, and quality control.
• Assists with proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Collects chain-of-custody urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy as needed.
