Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform patient and proficiency testing with quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, MLS/AMT/NCA certification within 1 year of hire, and at least 1 year of hospital laboratory experience. The role is safety sensitive and reports to Laboratory Director/Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or other related clinical science as defined by CLIA.
• MLS (ASCP), AMT, AAB or NCA (formerly HEW) required within 1 year of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year hospital laboratory experience

Responsibilities

• Test procedures are correctly executed and performed without errors according to established policy and procedure. Correlates data and monitors test results for reasonableness and detects discrepancies.
• Maintains records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
• Adheres to quality control policies; documents all quality control activities, calibrations, and maintenance performed.
• Follows procedures for remedial actions when test systems are not within established performance levels and documents accordingly.
• Identifies problems that may affect test performance or reporting; corrects or notifies on-site leadership.
• Maintains and completes required preventive maintenance; performs QC, reviews, and takes action in out-of-control situations.
• Completes routines and STATs within expected time frames; coordinates multiple tests during shift.
• May act as on-site supervisor in absence of technical leadership; signs off on competencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
