Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking qualified Medical Technologists/Medical Lab Technologists to join our laboratory team in Baton Rouge, LA. This role performs routine and specialty lab tests on patient specimens, interprets results, and supports clinical staff with accurate data interpretation.

The candidate must hold an active CLS (MT) or MLT license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and demonstrate reliability in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Must have Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners CLS (MT) license.
• Or must have Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners MLT license.
• License must be current for employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens.
• Correlates and interprets data based on knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments.
• Investigates problems and performs corrective and preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Prepares reagents, instructs students and new employees, and performs data entry and interpretation of test results.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Communicates effectively with physicians, nursing staff, co-workers and other organizational staff.
• Observes and follows established department safety protocols.
