Job summary

Memorial Hospital of Carbondale is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician or Lab Scientist for night shifts. Candidates will collect, process and test patient specimens, perform a range of testing from waived to high complexity, and ensure accuracy under CLIA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Perform routine waived, moderately, and high complex testing.
• Collect, process and receive specimens (blood, urine, fecal, body fluids) for analysis in all lab departments.
• Evaluate and solve problems related to collection/processing of specimens per CLIA requirements.
• Prepare samples for testing and send out to reference laboratories.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and stock supplies.
• Perform complex lab procedures; recognize deviations and correct problems under direct supervision per CLIA requirements.
• Analyze quality control data and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision per CLIA requirements.
• Assist in troubleshooting and instrument maintenance.
• Participate in training programs.

Responsibilities
