Qualifications

• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy in departments where applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science/medical technology or a related field, with certification as MLS or equivalent.
• For Nevada/California, certification must be maintained.
• Foreign educated candidates require credential evaluation (IERF or equivalent).
• Some specialties may require additional experience with specific disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing accurately and promptly according to policies and performance standards.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor abnormal results and document deviations; participate in QA and process improvements.
• Assist with inventory control and provide financial data related to department performance.
• Contribute to department projects, train staff, and participate in committees or special projects.
• May process and prepare patient samples and ensure correct identification and specimen integrity.
