Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking a Medical/Surgical RN for night shift. You will provide direct professional nursing care on a medical/surgical unit, ensuring safe, evidence-based care and a supportive environment for patients and families.

In addition to core med/surg duties, CCU responsibilities may apply for critically ill patients. The role requires current MN RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI within six months, and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing with Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required; must enroll in NH+C RQI program and complete within 90 days.
• ACLS required; must enroll in NH+C RQI program and complete within 90 days.
• PALS required; must enroll in NH+C RQI program and complete within 90 days.
• Initial Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) within six months.
• Workplace Violence training in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.
• Trauma training modules within 1 year of hire.
• EKG rhythm interpretation competence documented in first 6 months.
• Effective communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and plan of care.
• Document and communicate patient assessments and changes.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise staff as needed.
• Administer medications and IV therapies with high accuracy.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and care plans.
• Direct and delegate tasks to support personnel during shifts.
• Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Maintain clinical competency and ensure safety on unit.
