Job summary

Johns Manville is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support production and facility equipment at our Hillsboro, TX site. The role focuses on routine and non-routine maintenance, safety, and uptime performance, with opportunities to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.

The candidate will perform electrical and mechanical tasks, read schematics, and participate in continuous improvement and RCCA teams. A strong safety mindset and effective communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be signed off on all Maintenance Technician I job qualifications.
• 2-5 years multi-craft maintenance experience.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and handle multiple priorities.
• Ability to disassemble, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative repair measures on mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, reducers, seals, etc.

Responsibilities

• Follow Johns Manville safety and environmental procedures and policies.
• Attend plant safety and training meetings as scheduled.
• Follow Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) and use safe work practices.
• Wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
• Develop JSA’s for new tasks and review annually.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Display advanced knowledge of electrical (single phase and 3 phase) and mechanical systems.
• Install and repair electrical conduit and cable.
• Work from schematics to troubleshoot or install equipment.
• Perform electrical measurements (volt, amp, watt).
• Inspect equipment and report defects to support preventative maintenance.
