Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the PCPF-OM department, responsible for maintaining mission-critical, 24/7 facility operations that directly impact patient care.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on multi-trade experience, with emphasis on plumbing, electrical work, and customer service, plus CMMS exposure; must be self-motivated and able to work independently on weekend night shifts to uphold safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in one or more crafts (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, instrumentation).
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and plumbing skills; ability to work nights.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment, buildings, and utilities.
• Maintain accurate records of materials and work performed.
• Notify management of identified repairs and coordinate with teams.
• Provide initial HVAC response and plumbing/electrical tasks as needed.
• Respond to facility emergencies including Code Red alarms.
