Job summary

California Closets is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic & Technician for the third shift at our Grand Rapids facility. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy wood processing equipment, with responsibilities spanning plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with CNC-style machinery, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read manuals and blueprints.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance roles working with heavy CNC-style machinery.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and blueprints.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools; PPE compliance.
• Willingness to climb ladders and handle physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair heavy wood processing equipment (Homag Saws, CNC, Edge banding).
• Troubleshoot issues and determine required repairs.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance procedures.
• Maintain tools and equipment; proper storage and usage.
• Ensure facility compliance with local building and fire codes.
• Set up maintenance records and project files.
• Requisition parts, supplies, and materials as needed.
