Job summary

California Closets Fulfillment/XMC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic & Technician for the 2nd shift. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy wood processing machines, plumbing, electrical and building systems in a full-time role.

The position offers a shift from 1:00PM to 9:30PM with a $32.46-$38.27 hourly pay plus a $1.50 differential and comprehensive benefits. Key responsibilities include inspecting CNC/Homag equipment, developing preventive maintenance procedures, maintaining parts

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance-related roles with heavy CNC-style machinery
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints

The Maintenance Mechanic & Technician coordinates and performs daily maintenance activities. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy wood processing machines according to safety predictive and productive maintenance systems. The Maintenance Mechanic & Technician is also responsible for plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Pay rate: $32.46 - $38.27 + $1.50 differential

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect and identify heavy wood processing equipment or machines including Homag Saws, CNC, and Edge banding in need of repair. Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Inform appropriate personnel of problems and projects that will affect the quality of production and production schedules.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance procedures for new and existing equipment and all building systems.
• Maintain tools and equipment through proper storage, training, maintenance, and usage.
• Ensure compliance of facility to meet local building and fire codes.
• Set up and maintain maintenance records and project files.
• Requisition all parts, supplies, and raw materials needed to maintain machinery and facility.

• 5+ years of experience in similar maintenance-related roles working directly with heavy CNC-style machinery.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to use and troubleshoot issues related to hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to abide by applicable proscribed personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to frequently climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces and work from elevated heights.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand equipment manuals and blueprints.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
• Need to have visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced.
• Ability to frequently bend, twist, squat, kneel, and lift (both lateral and overhead) and reach with hand and arms and grasp. Ability to constantly stand and frequently sit.
