Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, processing, and packaging equipment. The role includes reading schematics, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and supporting new equipment installations.

The position requires 1–3 years in maintenance, high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. Ammonia refrigeration experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade/technical training preferred.
• 1–3 years in maintenance or related electrical/hydraulic/heating systems.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
• Read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
• Able to operate tools and follow safety procedures.
• Certification may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and support installation of new equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Document repairs and complete required paperwork clearly and accurately.
• Maintain interior of the building and assist with inventory and parts management.
• Follow GMP, safety, and sanitation requirements.
