Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in High Point, NC is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, processing, and packaging equipment, ensuring safety and uptime. You will read schematics and manuals, assist with new equipment installations, train operators, document repairs, and maintain facilities to support efficient dairy operations.

Candidates should have 1–3 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or technical training, and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of maintenance, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, PLC, and HVAC or related experience, ideally in manufacturing.
Trade/technical school in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, welding, etc. preferred.
Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
Certification/license may be required during employment.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment and related systems following safety procedures.
Read and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders.
Support installation of new equipment and assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Complete work orders promptly with high quality standards.
Document all repairs and maintain SOP records.
Maintain building interiors and perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
Maintain inventory by reporting low supplies to supervisor.
