Job summary

usfoods is seeking a Night Loader to load outbound trailers safely and efficiently in a high-paced warehouse environment in Salem, VA. You will follow load diagrams, verify quantities, and ensure products are properly secured for transit.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to operate pallet jacks, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of one year warehouse, distribution, logistics, or loading experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand load diagrams, shipping documents, and labels; strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Load outbound trailers accurately and efficiently per load diagrams and delivery schedules.
• Inspect trailers prior to loading to ensure clean, damage-free condition.
• Verify pallets, cases and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
• Operate pallet jacks and material handling equipment safely throughout the warehouse and dock.
• Secure loads using straps and other approved methods to prevent damage.
• Inspect products for damage, quality concerns, and correct labeling before loading.
• Maintain productivity while ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures.
• Follow food safety, warehouse safety, and OSHA guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, organized dock area and assist with other duties as needed.
