Job summary

Orono Public Schools is hiring a Night Lead Custodian to supervise the evening custodial team at Orono Elementary School. This 8-hour shift ensures a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility for students and staff.

Responsibilities include leading staff, coordinating with building leadership, managing supplies, and performing routine cleaning and event setup while addressing priorities and safety concerns. Competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Focus on detail and commitment to quality cleaning.
• Experience cleaning in a commercial setting preferred.
• Ability to work with district staff and public.
• Licenses: Certified Pool Operator License and boiler license required (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Motivates custodians to provide a clean and safe environment for teachers, students, and staff.
• Collaborates with Buildings and Grounds leadership and building principals to identify priorities.
• Adjusts to the needs of supervisors and principals to meet cleaning objectives.
• Monitors equipment and supplies to avoid delays in service delivery.
• Collaborates with other custodial team members to provide support across facilities.
• Perform routine and project cleaning of assigned areas.
• Assist with set-up and take-down of school activities.
• Keep sidewalks and other outdoor walkways clear of snow and ice.
• Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or as needed.
