Rochester Public Schools is seeking a Custodial Night Lead to supervise and assist custodial staff during the evening shift. You will ensure building security, manage daily cleaning operations, and support the Facilities Manager with scheduling and training across facilities.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED and a valid Minnesota driver’s license, with specialized boiler license also needed. It is a full-time, on-site position with a focus on safety and efficiency.

• Complies with all School District and OSHA policies.
• The Custodial Night Lead assumes charge of the building when the Custodian Lead VI is not on site.
• Assist Facilities Manager in scheduling and training of staff as needed or directed.
• Provides and assigns additional work direction and assistance to custodial staff as approved by Assistant Facilities Manager or the Custodian Lead VI.
• Completes all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains daily upkeep of assigned area and equipment performs janitorial duties.
• Ensures building and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to Assistant Facilities Manager and Building Principal.
• Operates motorized equipment used for cleaning and snow removal.
• Removal of snow/ice and application of snow melt around the building to insure safety.
• Maintains inventory for cleaning supplies/equipment and informs Custodian Lead VI when items are needed.
• Provides instructions for nightly special event set ups and assigns appropriate coverage with the Custodian Lead VI’s prior approval.
• Performs a variety of cleaning and semi-skilled duties including vacuuming, mopping, washing tables/windows/bathrooms, dusting, waxing, etc.
• Moves up to 50 pounds of project materials and/or tools to remote building locations.
• Erect and stand on scaffolding, ladders, and platform lifts up to 30 feet for extended periods.
• Performs essential maintenance to the facility or equipment with reach, kneeling, shoveling, etc.
• Works under supervision of Facilities Manager, Assistant Facilities Manager, Building Principal and COO.
• Performs other duties within the level of responsibility assigned by the Assistant Facilities Manager.
