Job summary

Edina Public Schools in Edina, MN, is seeking a Night Lead Custodian at the Edina Community Center. This full-time, non-exempt position coordinates the night crew, prioritizes work orders, and sets up equipment for evening events.

The role also includes assisting with cleaning, basic maintenance, and snow removal. Most duties occur after regular hours, supporting the district's mission to keep facilities safe and welcoming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least two years of custodial and general maintenance experience.
• Ability to obtain Minnesota Chief Class C Engineer License.
• Ability to obtain a pool license for required facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, prioritize and monitor the night crew's work orders.
• Set up equipment and supplies for evening events in the building.
• Assist in cleaning assigned areas and perform routine maintenance.
• Assist in snow and ice removal on sidewalks and entry areas.

Position Summary:

With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools' mission, vision and core values, the Night Lead Custodian, under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor, is responsible for coordinating, prioritizing and monitoring the work operations and staff assigned to the night crew. Duties associated with the job may vary from building but will include such tasks and duties as coordinating, monitoring, and assigning work orders to building cleaners; setting up equipment and needed supplies/materials for evening events in the building; assisting in cleaning assigned areas; performing general and routine maintenance; assisting in removing snow and ice on sidewalks and entry areas; and participating in summer cleaning activities.

Education/Experience and License Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of two (2) years pervious custodial and general maintenance experience.
• Ability to obtain a State of Minnesota "Chief" Class C Engineer License.
• Ability to obtain a pool license for required facilities.

Salary Range: The wage for this position ranges from $32.44 to $34.21 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Most candidates will start at the entry-level rate of $32.44 per hour.
