Job summary

Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) seeks a Laboratory Assistant I/II to join our Night shift team in Scranton, PA. You will accession, process, and prepare patient specimens for testing in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

The role requires handling infectious materials safely and verifying orders for patient safety. Full benefits start day one; a $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• ASCP MLA certification preferred or eligible.
• Strong communication and computer literacy.
• Experience with LIS and routine lab workflows is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accession and process patient specimens for testing.
• Safely handle potentially infectious materials.
• Verify orders and match specimen data for accuracy.
• Prepare and label specimens and deliver to testing areas.
• Maintain logs, QC anddisinfection procedures.
• Assist with inventory and storage of supplies.
