Job summary

Southeast Medical Group seeks a Medical Technician to perform routine laboratory analyses, specimen collection, and processing in a high-volume setting. The role supports quality control and supervision of Laboratory Assistants, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety standards.

Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, biology, or chemistry, and ASCP or AMT certification, with current or soon-to-be BLS.

Qualifications

• Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, biology, or chemistry from an accredited institution.
• Licensure/certification: ASCP or AMT.
• Current BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer literacy, data entry, and Microsoft Office familiarity.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and safety compliance.
• Excellent teamwork and communication in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory analyses and specimen processing independently.
• Support daily quality control checks and maintain equipment.
• Document accurately in LIS/EHR and uphold patient confidentiality.
• Supervise Laboratory Assistants across shifts and ensure CLSI/AABB guidelines are followed.
• Contribute to inventory management and safe working environment.
• Provide general administrative support and assist with patient instructions.
