Job summary

UC Health West Chester Hospital is seeking a full-time Lab Support Technician for the core lab on the third shift. The role includes collecting specimens, processing and distributing them, and supporting the technical staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy training; phlebotomy certification is preferred. Familiarity with Centricity, LastWord, Horizon or Epic systems is advantageous for daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a formal phlebotomy program preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Familiarity with information systems (Centricity, LastWord, Horizon, Epic) expected.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens and perform pre- and post-analytic processing.
• Accessions, labels and distributes specimens.
• Performs clerical duties and assists the technical staff.
• Venipunctures and POC testing as needed.
• Maintains logs and ensures timely workflow and documentation.
• Supports billing/documentation and coordinates specimen flow.
