Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a part-time phlebotomy technician for night shifts (22:00–06:30), 24 hours per week, including weekends and holidays per unit rotation.

The role involves specimen collection, processing, accessioning, and related duties to ensure efficient laboratory operations and accurate test results. You will work with the LIS, verify information, and support non-technical tasks while maintaining QA/QC and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Fast-paced environment requiring accuracy under deadlines.
• Strong communication with patients and clinical staff is essential.
• Good organization and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with computer systems used in laboratory operations.
• Attention to detail to ensure correct specimen labeling and processing.
• Telephone etiquette for coordinating specimen pickup and results.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection and processing to support lab operations.
• Accession and verify lab test requests and resolve discrepancies.
• Operate the LIS to prepare draw lists and labels, print reports.
• Perform venipuncture and non-blood specimen collection as required.
• Maintain QA/QC procedures and comply with safety guidelines.
• Provide general office/clerical support within the laboratory.
