Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibilities for the daily operation of the pre-analytical areas of the laboratory.
• Assures quality and accuracy throughout the pre-analytical systems (specimen collection, processing, transport and patient registration).
• Oversees point of care testing performed by lab support employees.
• Develops customer service standards and trains staff to deliver excellent customer service.
• Handles customer complaints, investigates and solves complex problems.
• Interviews prospective employees and makes hiring recommendations.
• Writes, reviews, and updates procedure manuals; maintains the department in conformance with regulatory demands.
