Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast in Philadelphia is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to support lab operations by processing patient specimens and performing phlebotomy in a hospital setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred, and phlebotomy certification is preferred. You will handle specimen collection, labeling, processing, and ensure proper transport and documentation to maintain specimen integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience with specimen handling and processing per CLIA or hospital protocols.

Responsibilities

• Receives, centrifuges, stores, and transports specimens according to protocol.
• Performs phlebotomy and blood collection via venipuncture or micro-techniques.
• Prepares specimens for analysis and ensures proper labeling and documentation.
• Provides patient and staff guidance on laboratory testing procedures.
