Job summary

MarinHealth seeks a Lab Assistant I–III to procure venous, arterial, and capillary blood samples and process specimens in a patient-focused laboratory. You will support licensed clinicians, perform EKGs, and help with registration for outpatients or drop-off specimens.

As you progress from Lab Assistant I to II/III, you may perform arterial blood gas draws and other duties, maintaining accuracy and safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CPT I or CPT II phlebotomy certification required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Experience as Lab Assistant in acute care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Procure venous, arterial, and capillary blood samples.
• Process specimens and operate lab equipment per section needs.
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKG) and assist licensed staff.
• Register outpatients or drop-off specimens as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and accurate records.
