Job summary

Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility) is seeking an Intake Clinician to obtain initial clinical information by phone and coordinate admission decisions with the on-call physician to determine inpatient, day treatment or outpatient care. The Clinician may schedule evaluations and assist clients, families, and referral sources throughout the admission process.

Qualifications

• MSW with Michigan LMSW (fully licensed) or Associates in Nursing or BSN with Michigan RN license.
• At least 1 to 3 years of experience providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric hospital.

Responsibilities

• Intake Clinician obtains initial clinical information by phone and relays to the on-call physician to decide admission level.
• May schedule a clinical evaluation when appropriate and assist client, family and referrals through the process.
• Provide information to clients, families and referral sources regarding treatment programs, insurance and admission procedures.
