Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a current valid Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
• LPS certification preferred or must obtain prior to employment.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• DMH certification required for 5150 detention.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients in the emergency room and throughout the unit as requested, ensuring appropriate placement by age and identified needs.
• Acts within the guidelines of LPS Statutes and Patients’ Rights.
• Provides crisis intervention and makes appropriate referrals when needed.
• Works within a multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and staff.
