Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit in Cherry Hill, NJ. This full-time night shift role supports the RN, monitors patient mood and behavior, and helps deliver compassionate care to an assigned caseload.

The position requires a high school diploma, college credits or degree in behavioral health, BLS certification, PEAT training, and experience with behavioral health clients. Jefferson Health offers solid benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 12 college credits, and full college degree preferred.
• BS or BA in behavioral health field preferred.
• One-year experience with behavioral health clients preferred.
• BLS through AHA required.
• Must be trained in PEAT and able to safely schedule and restrain an aggressively acting out patient.

Responsibilities

• Assists the RN in delivering care, observing patient behaviors, and more.
• Reports/documents any changes in patients mood or behavior in a timely fashion.
• Provides one-on-one sessions with assigned patients as needed.
• Will maintain a full patient caseload with an assigned primary nurse in an inpatient setting, and provide care for all patients effectively and compassionately.
