Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to oversee patient care using a professional practice model. You will perform patient assessments, create and adjust care plans, and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies while ensuring safety and quality.

You will educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to promote better health choices. The role requires knowledge of the Texas Nursing Practice Act and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN license required and BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of start.
• Grad of an Accredited Program in nursing; specialized field of study should be nursing.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems as used in medical care and documentation.
• Ability to understand and apply nursing laws, rules and Texas Nursing Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs; create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Educate patients, families, nurses and community members to empower informed health decisions.
• Delegate tasks based on patient condition and team competencies; coordinate care with colleagues and community resources.
• Maintain patient safety, document learning needs, and adapt plans to achieve desired health outcomes.
