Job summary

Baystate Health seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Medical ICU at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. This per diem night shift role supports critical care providers and helps monitor adult patients with compassionate, patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate holds a GED/HiSET, BLS certification, and CNA credential, and demonstrates teamwork, safety awareness, and the ability to respond to emergencies in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Certified Nurse Aide credential is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care and documents vital signs.
• Performs dressing changes, specimen collection, EKGs and POC testing.
• Aids nurses and providers with examinations, treatments and patient needs.
• Maintains patient safety and reports changes to the clinical team.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff.
