Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the MICU B department. You will work under the supervision of RNs to provide direct clinical and support services to patients and families in a high-acuity Critical Care unit.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS/CPR certification, and the ability to pass competency testing. Prior hospital experience or related training is preferred, with a focus on teamwork and compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • BLS and CPR certification must be current or obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic math and computer proficiency.
  • One of: EMT/PC Technician training, nursing program rotations, CMA training, or related hospital experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform delegated patient care interventions for Critical Care patients and families.
  • Obtain vital signs, assist with hygiene, dressing wounds, and provide emotional support.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure appropriate equipment in the Critical Care unit.
  • Support efficient operation and contribute to quality patient/family outcomes.
