Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to assist with the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems at the FLETC Charleston facility. You will support senior technicians to ensure heating, cooling, and ventilation operate safely and efficiently while gaining hands-on troubleshooting experience.

This 100% on-site role at Charleston requires 1–3 years of HVAC experience and EPA 608 certification. Work hours are 11pm–7am with on-call availability; DHS background check is required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of HVAC service or maintenance experience.
• Proficiency with system controllers such as Trane Tracer Summit and programmable controls.
• EPA 608 certification required; Universal preferred (permissive).

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and maintenance of HVAC systems (air handlers, pumps, thermostats, ductwork).
• Perform routine filter changes, coil cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.
• Support diagnosis of HVAC issues under guidance of senior mechanics.
• Record basic service data and report issues to lead or supervisor.
• Follow OSHA standards and site maintenance protocols.
