Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group seeks an overnight Hospitalist/EMU Rounder at Baltimore-Washington Medical Center. The role provides comprehensive overnight medical care, including admissions, coverage, and code responses, with emphasis on safe patient transitions and efficient throughput.

The starting salary is $280,000 with a strong benefits package, physician-led practice, and opportunities to become a shareholder in MAPMG.

Qualifications

• MD/DO in Internal Medicine with board eligibility or certification.
• Commitment to patient-centered, culturally competent care.
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary Hospital Medicine team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive overnight medical care, including admissions, cross-coverage, management of acute clinical issues, participation in medical emergencies and code responses.
• Evaluate and manage EMU patients with reassessment, planning, and disposition decisions.
• Assess hospitalization needs in collaboration with the ED, consultants, and care management.
• Support efficient resource utilization and alternative care pathways when appropriate.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and care teams; ensure accurate documentation.
• Facilitate safe transitions of care with daytime teams.
