Job summary

The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Hospital and EMU Rounder-Nocturnist at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, MD. You will provide overnight, comprehensive medical care, including admissions, cross-coverage, and urgent responses, while coordinating with the Hospital Medicine team and consultants.

Minimum requirements include an MD/DO, Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine, and full or eligible licensure in DC, MD, or VA.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive overnight medical care including admissions, cross-coverage, and code responses.
• Evaluate EMU patients, coordinate with daytime Hospital Medicine and consultants.
• Assess hospitalization needs and level of care with ED and care teams.
• Support resource utilization and consider alternative care pathways when appropriate.
• Respond to urgent clinical issues and coordinate overnight specialty consultations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure safe transitions of care and thorough handoffs to daytime teams.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation of admissions and progress notes.
