Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Hospital Bed Board Coordinator (Part Time) to regulate bed availability hospital-wide and support patient flow during night shifts. The role includes real-time monitoring of admissions, transfers, and discharges, with coordination across ED staff, care managers, and inpatient teams.

Responsibilities include reviewing admit orders, insurance verification, and maintaining bed status while preserving patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• One year or more of experience in an acute care setting or related health care setting or strong customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Regulate bed availability hospital-wide and monitor admissions, transfers, and discharges in real time.
• Communicate with ED staff, care managers, nurses, and environmental services about patient status and bed status.
• Verify insurance information (HMO, PPO, Medicare) and process authorizations when needed.
• Maintain professional, calm interaction with physicians and staff and ensure patient rights confidentiality.
• Operate the hospital bed board with accuracy and efficiency and perform daily census reconciliation.
• Identify and mitigate barriers to admission, transfer, and discharge while maintaining throughput.
