Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation District 06 in Delaware County is hiring for Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1). The positions are based at the District 6 Garage in Delaware, with a full-time schedule from 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Selected candidates will perform highway maintenance duties, pursue CDL licensure if needed, and contribute to road safety across the Delaware County area.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and basic English vocabulary, CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

Responsibilities

• You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
• You will attend training to obtain CDL licensure; if not already a licensed CDL holder.
• You will perform highway maintenance activities; including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• You will perform snow & ice operations.
