Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is hiring to deliver outstanding customer experiences in a Houston store. You will assist the department manager to meet sales and profit goals while maintaining a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return.

Responsibilities include helping customers, knowledge about products, promoting specials, ensuring product freshness, stocking, safety compliance, and accident reporting. Strong communication and math skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
• Knowledge of basic math for cashiering and balancing.
• Effective communication skills with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials.
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and temperature logs.
• Enforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or fraud.
• Perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
