Job summary

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals for the department.
• Promote trust and respect among associates and make customers feel welcome and appreciated.
• Answer questions regarding products and suggest items to customers.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates; take action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products ordered.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs to management.
• Report safety risks, accidents, and any illegal activity to management.
