Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking a full-time General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for night shifts in Virginia. The selected candidate will assess, stabilize, and manage care for acutely ill surgical patients in the inpatient setting, collaborating with a general surgery team.

We value experience in inpatient or surgical settings, Virginia licensure, and required certifications (DEA, BLS, ACLS).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Acute Care NP or completion of a PA program.
• Surgical or inpatient experience preferred.
• License or license eligible in Virginia; DEA, BLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial assessment and stabilization for admitted general surgery patients.
• Perform daily evaluations and develop treatment plans with the surgical team.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; coordinate consultations as needed.
• Document encounters and participate in rounds and handoffs.
• Assist with preop risk assessment and postoperative care as required.
• Adhere to safety, policies and continuous learning expectations.
