Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers for loading. The role requires operating forklifts and pallet jacks, verifying freight docs, and securing loads in trailers.

The position is on the 7pm–3am shift with pay between $27.63 and $32.93 per hour and a benefits package. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years old, and warehousing or forklift experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Warehousing, freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and dock plates of varying weights.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight throughout shift.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
