Job summary

HES is seeking a Floor Technician to support cleaning and floor care in educational facilities in Dallas, TX. This full-time, 3rd shift role involves carpet cleaning, scrubbing, sealing, waxing, and operating buffers up to 24 inches and 3000 RPM.

The position requires high school level reading/writing, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a commitment to safety. Optional daily pay and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Prior floor, hard surface, carpet cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.
• Have a reliable vehicle.
• Able to read, write, and comprehend at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
• Good interpersonal skills; able to work with a diverse group.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of excellence.
• Performs the following duties: carpet cleaning (bonnet and extraction), scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and spray buffing hard surface floors.
• Must be able to operate high and low speed buffers up to 24 inch and 3000 RPM burnishing equipment.
• Follow established safety precautions for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility.
• Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment including buffers and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Inspect equipment and attachments to ensure quality.
• Examine floor care chemicals and dilution ratios.
• Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors; clean or shampoo carpets.
• Light window and wall cleaning; trash removal.
• Additional duties as required by supervisor.
