Job summary

The Children’s Recovery Center in Norman, Oklahoma, part of ODMHSAS, is hiring a Fire Prevention and Security Officer to inspect for fire hazards, enforce safety regulations, and provide security for staff and visitors. The role includes weekend night shifts and non-exempt status.

Ideal candidates will be at least 21, with Level II prerequisites including basic security or firefighter training and experience. A driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older per DHS requirements.
• F&S Level I: No education/experience required.
• F&S Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course and 2 years of security or fire protection experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and grounds to identify and correct fire hazards.
• Enforce laws, rules and regulations related to safety and security.
• Provide security for the Children's Recovery Center and its occupants.
• Patrol assigned premises to identify and mitigate hazards and direct traffic as needed.
• Assist employees or visitors and respond to incidents or inquiries.
