Job summary

Renaissance Austin Downtown Hotel in Austin, TX is seeking an Overnight Maintenance Engineer to support engineering and facilities operations. The role requires hands-on problem solving, routine preventive maintenance, and prompt response to mechanical, electrical, and safety issues during overnight shifts.

You will train other staff, document activities, monitor energy use, follow safety protocols, and maintain tools and supplies.

Qualifications

Background in engineering, maintenance, facilities, or security.
Basic mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability for building systems.
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
Strong situational awareness and emergency response mindset.
Ability to work independently and make sound overnight decisions.
Clear written communication for logs and shift handoffs.

Responsibilities

Train and instruct other staff through knowledge sharing.
Operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems and implementing solutions.
Keep accurate completion and task records in project files.
Monitor systems and respond to emergencies to protect guests and associates.
Observe energy usage and report ideas to management.
Maintain tools, equipment, and safety practices in all areas.
