Job summary

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Worker- CL1 (Custodian) for the third shift to begin immediately. This essential role uses cleaning equipment and supplies to maintain restrooms, classrooms, offices and campus spaces.

Work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 pm–6:30 am. Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, free college classes, retirement plan, and life and disability insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to be approved to drive University vehicles.
• Experience with cleaning tasks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use cleaning equipment safely (vacuum, floor machines).
• Lift and carry items that are heavy (trash, furniture, equipment).
• Shovel snow from building entrances and walkways.
• Pick up trash and debris near the outside of buildings.
• Clean restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways and other spaces on campus.
• Work alone or as part of a team.
• Occasionally climb ladders up to 12 feet.
• Follow safety rules and report anything broken or unsafe.
