You will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and ensure HIPAA confidentiality while registering for inpatient, outpatient, or ER services.

This role emphasizes accurate data collection, patient communication about rights and directives, and coordination of ID and coverage documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ year working in medical and/or medical insurance areas.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, collects demographics and insurance data, and protects privacy per HIPAA.
• Registers patients for inpatient, outpatient, or emergency room services and verifies demographic and insurance information.
• Copies insurance cards as required.
• Prepares ID bracelets and distributes them with admission forms.
• Provides patient rights and advance directive information as required.
• Obtains signatures and copies/scans identification and coverage.
• Documents reasons when information is unavailable.
• Communicates patient financial responsibility to the guarantor.
