Job summary

Liberty Ridge Elementary School is seeking a Night Engineer to manage custodial operations. The role covers several campuses within the district, including the program center and service center, ensuring cleanliness and safety during evening hours.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for directing custodial functions at District 833 Elementary Schools, District Program Center and/or District Service Center.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform regular custodial duties such as mopping, sweeping, dumping trash, cleaning glass, vacuuming and changing light bulbs.
• Provide excellent customer service to building staff, students and other users.
• Operate boiler, HVAC, EMS and other related equipment.
• Reports maintenance needs to Building Foreman.
• Lock and un-lock doors in building according to scheduled activities.
• Set-up and clean-up for special events.
• Assign tasks, adjust work duties and monitor status of other custodians.
• Perform exterior cleaning duties such as sweeping sidewalks and picking up trash.
• Operate snow removal equipment and shovel snow as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Second Class BoilerLicense orspecial C Boiler Operating License (must be within twelve (12) months of testing for 2C Boiler License.)
• Two years custodial experience.
• Able to operate equipment associated with custodial operations
• Knowledge of standard safety procedures.
• Basic understanding of chemical dilution rates.
• Able to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
• Ability to perform routine computer functions including the use of email, Skyward, EMS and work order system.
• Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
• Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.

Special Class C ENGINEER LICENSE MUST BE ON FILE PRIOR TO END OF POSTING: The applicant will have six (6) months after first opportunity to successfully test for proper license (maximum of eighteen (18) months). Employee unable to achieve proper boiler license will be returned to a floater status, and at floater rate of pay. Bidding priority goes to the most senior bidder with 2C Operating Engineer License.
