Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Sarasota, FL is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our Emergency and Critical Care department. This night shift runs 7:30 pm–8:00 am with a pay range of $20–$40 per hour, starting point dependent on experience and competency leveling.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform digital radiography, monitor vitals, and assist Veterinarians with CPR and critical care procedures.

Qualifications

• Qualified CVT/LVT/RVT/LVMT or experienced un-credentialed applicants encouraged.
• Experience in Emergency and Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to work nights in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia and use anesthesia equipment.
• Triage emergencies and monitor vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs; alert veterinarians to changes.
• Initiate CPR when needed and assist with critical care.
• Phlebotomy, IV catheter placement and fluid therapy.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines when indicated.
• Mentor and train co-workers; communicate compassionately with clients.
