Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an Emergency Department Tech Level I to support the ED during night shifts. You will provide safe, age-appropriate care under a Registered Nurse, perform vital signs, 12-lead EKG, bedside glucose testing, wound care, and assist with ambulation and transfers.

Core duties include aseptic technique, sterile tray prep, phlebotomy, monitor cardiac rhythms, transport patients and supplies, and ensure rooms and equipment are stocked for safe care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS, ARC-BLS, or BLS Instructor certification required upon hire.
• Previous direct patient care experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate effective communication and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, age-appropriate care under RN supervision.
• Perform 12-lead EKG and relay results to ED physician.
• Conduct bedside blood glucose testing and report abnormalities.
• Assist with ambulation and transfer using proper body mechanics.
• Transport patients, supplies, equipment, and medications.
• Monitor patients in restraint/seclusion and document observations.
