Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an ED Tech Level I to support the Emergency Department with multi-skilled patient care under RN supervision. You will monitor vital signs, perform 12-lead EKGs, and assist with wound care, phlebotomy, and aseptic procedures.

You will also transport patients and equipment while ensuring safety. Required are a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification; prior patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Prior direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs; inform nurse if abnormal.
• Perform 12-lead EKG and hand to ED physician.
• Perform bedside blood sugar testing; inform nurse if abnormal.
• Measure and apply extremity splints as directed by nurse or physician.
• Instruct patient on safe crutch ambulation with return demonstration.
• Oral suctioning; superficial wound care.
• Sterile tray preparation; dressing application; phlebotomy.
• Transport patients, supplies, and equipment; assist with medications.
• Monitor patients in restraint/seclusion and document observations.
• Observe cardiac monitors to recognize arrhythmias and notify clinician.
