Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, KY, is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department on nights. This full-time leadership role combines clinical expertise with shift-wide oversight to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

The Charge Nurse collaborates with physicians and the care team, mentors staff, supervises admissions and documentation in the EHR, and supports rapid responses, performance improvement, and compliance with Joint Commission standards.

• Follows oral and written instructions.
• Works cooperatively, collaboratively, and communicates effectively.

Responsabilités

• Assign and adjust patient care assignments based on acuity and staffing.
• Serve as clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies and accreditation standards.
• Monitor quality of care and patient safety; escalate as needed.
• Facilitate communication among physicians, nurses, and families.
• Oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Oversee documentation in the EHR for accuracy and compliance.
• Support staff in emergencies and codes; lead until arrival of physician/rapid response.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide direct patient care as needed to support staffing demands.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment per infection prevention standards.
• Communicate shift reports to incoming Charge Nurse and Nurse Manager.
• Monitor supplies and equipment readiness.
