Job summary

Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, KY seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for night shift PRN coverage. The ED RN provides high-quality, compassionate care, supports triage, treatment, and safe discharge or admission decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include Kentucky RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS/NIHSS within specified timelines, and TNCC within 1 year; BSN preferred, with 1 year of RN experience preferred though not required.

Qualifications

• RN with Kentucky license and current BLS; ACLS/PALS/NIHSS within 3 months; TNCC within 1 year.
• Minimum one year of RN experience; emergency nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform focused assessments and prioritize care by acuity.
• Triage patients and initiate timely interventions.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as ordered.
• Monitor and document patient status changes in the EHR.
• Respond to emergencies with CPR, defibrillation, and code response.
• Assist physicians with procedures and exams.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with staff and families.
• Provide discharge instructions and education to patients.
